Risk Point was founded by Ray Hartley, who served as research director at The Brenthurst Foundation. He is a former editor of South Africa's Sunday Times newspaper, the Rand Daily Mail and BusinessLive. He was an administrator in negotiations to end apartheid and covered Nelson Mandela's presidency, travelling around the world with him. He has published several books, research papers and opinion articles and has worked across Africa, focusing on the relationship between democracy and economic growth.
